If you're looking to start preparing for the UPSC exam but don't know where to start, don't worry! You're not alone. Many aspirants start from zero, unsure of what to do and where to begin. In this guide, we'll discuss how you can start UPSC preparation from zero and make the most of your efforts.
To start with, it's crucial to understand the importance of having a well-structured plan in place. A plan that covers all the critical areas that the UPSC syllabus includes and mapping out what you need to study along with prioritizing it should be your first step. This is where coaching can come in handy, particularly IAS coaching in Delhi.
In Delhi, SHRI RAM IAS is one of the most reputable institutes for UPSC preparation. Built upon years of experience and a proven track record, Shri Ram IAS has helped numerous aspirants start from scratch and clear the UPSC exam successfully.
SHRI RAM IAS not only offers classroom coaching but also offers online coaching options, making it easier for those who are working or find it challenging to commute to take up coaching.
Before you get to that, however, keep in mind that the first step to prepare for the UPSC exams is understanding the exam's syllabus and pattern. Take the time to go through the prelims and mains syllabus and understand what each section requires. This will give you an idea of what to prepare, prioritize, and focus your efforts on.
Once you’re done analyzing the syllabus, the next step is to start building on your basic understanding. Refer to NCERT books, standard textbooks, and newspapers to familiarize yourself with current affairs. It’s a good idea to start with basic books and work your way up.
This is where joining a coaching institute like SHRI RAM IAS, can be beneficial. Their coaches provide personalized attention and support, keeping the students' needs in mind, and help them build their skills and knowledge base.
In addition to coaching, starting a routine that focuses on consistent studies and revisions will be necessary. This is because the UPSC exam is vast and will require multiple revisions and practice tests to sharpen your skills. Consistency is key, so it’s essential to set achievable short-term goals that will lead to completing the long-term ones.
Another crucial step is working on your writing skills for the mains exam. Writing practice using a pen can help make your writing legible and improve your speed. Also, taking up a couple of test series helps you refine your writing skills and familiarize you with the type of questions that you may face.
Lastly, always stay updated on current affairs, both national and international, by regularly reading newspapers, magazines, and using online resources Shri Ram IAS provides like their "Current Affairs" and "Blogs" sections on their website.
In conclusion, starting your UPSC preparation from zero can be daunting, but with a well-structured plan, consistent effort, and help from coaching institutes like SHRI RAM IAS, it is achievable. Take time to work hard and improve your knowledge base, and stay focused on your goals. With effort and determination, you can achieve success and become an IAS officer.
